asembl (not so) live #13

Share on social:

Taped shows are fine. But there's nothing like live standup (even if the standup is sitting down on their couch).

That's what we have on Friday, April 17 at 9 o'clock  (Eastern). Join us for Zach Zimmerman, Ryan Beck & Casey Balsham.

Here's the main page for the series where you can check out upcoming and past shows.

Or follow us on social media for the same:

Here's how it works:

  • Get Zoom here (it's super simple to use and free).
  • Hit the "Join the show" button below at 9:00 p.m. on Friday, April 17 to join. You can RSVP and add to your calendar here or on Facebook.
  • Turn on your microphone and/or camera so we can hear everybody laugh and feel together (also: behave).
  • Our amazing comedians do 10 minute sets each.
  • You laugh a great deal.
  • Donate. We're not putting up a paywall since we want everyone to easily join but we'd appreciate your donating $5 (or more!). Everybody's gigs went poof so a bit of cash would be highly appreciated.

If that doesn't work for some weird reason, our PayPal account is: (

We also accept Venmo (, though they're weird about non-personal payments and so PayPal is better). Our account is @Stevan-Nicholas

Now, the comedians. First up is Zach Zimmerman.

Zach is a sweet, queer Southern boy with a ribald sense of humor. A 2019 TimeOut NY Comic to Watch, Zach’s first comedy album “Clean Comedy,” debuted at #1 on the iTunes Comedy charts and in the Billboard Top 10. His Edinburgh Fringe debut of the same name gained critical praise and was listed as a show to see in the New York Comedy Festival by the The New York Times.

Next, Casey Balsham.

You’ve seen Casey at various club all over the country and as a regular at New York Comedy Club and Gotham. You’ve heard her as the co-host of the Not Another True Crime Podcast by Betches Media. Casey has also been featured on Gotham Comedy Live, Lifetime, Tidal’s No Small Talk Series and in a Monistat commercial you can only find online.

Her debut album “Son of a Barb” hit number one on the iTunes charts and can be streamed on Spotify and Pandora.

She recently wrote and starred in a one woman show called “Casey Balsham Does a Thing” and was the lead in the off Broadway musical, HA! In between Instagram breaks, Casey is working on her second solo show and writing a musical with her writing partner, Bradley Beahan.

And finally, Ryan Beck.

Ryan Beck is a regular at the Comedy Cellar in New York and his stand up has been featured on Comedy Central. Ryan has also performed in the New York Comedy Festival, Brooklyn Comedy Festival, Limestone Comedy Festival and the Glasgow International Comedy Festival. Ryan is a former digital creator for Comedy Central and has appeared on MTV’s Girl Code, Comedy Central’s Alternatino, This Week At The Comedy Cellar, and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

When this is all over, you'll need to go out. And also re-introduce yourself to your friends. asembl makes doing both better. Check it out for all the best things going on and the easiest way to gather a group to do those things with.
