Comedy in Captivity: asembl (not so) live #16

You can't go to see live comedy. So we're bringing comedy to you: mobile comedy.

Join us on Friday, April 24 at 9 o'clock  (Eastern). It's online since we're prohibited from going out. We call it (not so) live. We've got Ever Mainard, Greg Edwards & Robby Slowik!

Here's the main page for the series where you can check out upcoming and past shows.

Or follow us on social media for the same:

Here's how it works:

  • Hit the "Join the show" button below at 9:00 p.m. on Friday, April 24 to join. You can RSVP and add to your calendar here or on Facebook.
  • Turn on your microphone and/or camera so we can hear everybody laugh and feel together (also: behave).
  • Our amazing comedians do 10 minute sets each.
  • You laugh a great deal.
  • Donate. We're not putting up a paywall since we want everyone to easily join but we'd appreciate your donating $5 (or more!). Everybody's gigs went poof so a bit of cash would be highly appreciated.

If that doesn't work for some weird reason, our PayPal account is: (

We also accept Venmo (, though they're weird about non-personal payments and so PayPal is better). Our account is @Stevan-Nicholas

Now, the comedians. First up is Greg Edwards.

Greg is a hilarious comedian that has been featured in the International New York Times, Entertainment Weekly & Forbes. He's been on Comedy Central, PBS, MTV & BET and is most known for his critically acclaimed Web - Series Thug Notes. You can check out his latest comedy album Dopamine on spotify.

Next, Ever Mainard.

Ever is a non-binary, award winning actor and comedian. Variety Magazine describes Ever as a “Wildcard,.. Hysterically funny and a force one can see a mile away.. “ for their performance in Netflix’s The Feels, opposite Constance Wu. Ever has also been seen as Lomey in Mark Duplass’ Paddelton, and as Marcy in Conan O’Brien’s new digital series, Meet the Staff.  Ever has been rated as one of the Top-3 U.S. Imports in the Edinburgh Fringe for their one-person show, Let Me Be Your Main Man,  and has performed stand-up across the U.S. and Europe.

And finally, Robby Slowik.

Aside from clubs and venues nationwide, Robby has done stand-up on Conan (TV!) and numerous festivals such as The Great American Comedy Festival and Laughing Skull and his album "Live Near Carnegie Hall" can be heard on SiriusXM as well as all streaming platforms.

He has also written for TV including working with Jon Stewart on his HBO project, as well as shows for IFC, MTV, and Comedy Central.

When this is all over, you'll need to go out. And also re-introduce yourself to your friends. asembl makes doing both better. Check it out for all the best things going on and the easiest way to gather a group to do those things with.
