Laughter in Quarantine: asembl (not so) live #12

Taped shows are fine. But there's nothing like live comedy. And going out is forbidden. What if we could have comedy live at home?

That's what we have on Wednesday, April 15 at 9 o'clock  (Eastern). Join us for Andy Haynes, Amy Silverberg & James Austin Roberts.

Here's the main page for the series where you can check out upcoming and past shows.

Or follow us on social media for the same:

Here's how it works:

  • Get Zoom here (it's super simple to use and free).
  • Hit the "Join the show" button below at 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 14 to join. You can RSVP and add to your calendar here or on Facebook.
  • Turn on your microphone and/or camera so we can hear everybody laugh and feel together (also: behave).
  • Our amazing comedians do 10 minute sets each.
  • You laugh a great deal.
  • Donate. We're not putting up a paywall since we want everyone to easily join but we'd appreciate your donating $5 (or more!). Everybody's gigs went poof so a bit of cash would be highly appreciated.

If that doesn't work for some weird reason, our PayPal account is: (

We also accept Venmo (, though they're weird about non-personal payments and so PayPal is better). Our account is @Stevan-Nicholas

Now, the comedians. First up is Andy Haynes.

Andy's standup can be seen on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Conan, Comedy Central Presents, the Pete Holmes show, and Comedy Central's Roast Battle. His debut album Greatest Hits was released in 2014.

He has been featured in Another Period (Comedy Central), Adam Ruins Everything (TruTV) and most recently in Loosely Exactly with Nicole Byer (MTV). Andy served as the head writer for Hot Takes with Brandon Wardell on Comedy Central and was the creator and star of "After Sheldon with Andy Haynes" on Jash.

He is the creator of the animated show "The Champions" for Bleacher Report and is a regular at both the Comedy Store in LA and the Comedy Cellar in NYC.

Next, James Austin Johnson.

James has made appearances on TV shows like VICE's Flophouse, Adam Ruins Everything, Future Man, and Better Call Saul and can also be seen in the Coen brothers film Hail Caesar.

He has also been named one of LA's 10 Comics to Watch by TimeOut LA.

And finally, Amy Silverberg.

Amy was a New Face at the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal in 2018. You can watch her on "Inside Joke with Asif Ali" on Amazon Prime. She also has a set on Comedy Dynamic's "Coming to the Stage" available on Pluto TV. She co-hosts three monthly stand-up shows: "What Now?" at The Hollywood Improv Lab, "Bitchface Comedy" in Pasadena, and "Wolf Den" in Silverlake.

Most importantly, she was once a contestant on Wheel of Fortune, during which she correctly guessed the phrase "He's Just Not That Into You" but still didn't win.

When this is all over, you'll need to go out. And also re-introduce yourself to your friends. asembl makes doing both better. Check it out for all the best things going on and the easiest way to gather a group to do those things with.
